Rents for eligible tenants are determined in accordance with the Local Housing Allowance (LHA) and depend on the size of household, location of property and their personal circumstances.
Rent Officers determine rents in Broad Rental Market Areas (BRMA) which can be accessed via the Government website www.voa.gov.uk/LHADirect/
In some limited circumstances tenants are entitled to claim discretionary hardship payment: as the name suggests, its not guaranteed but determined by each local authority in accordance with tightly prescribed regulations.
